Where can you use medical uniform shoes?

Men’s and women’s medical shoes are great not only for healthcare workers, such as nurses, doctors, physiotherapists or other health specialists. They are also the best footwear choice for pharmacists, hairdressers, beauticians and other persons who need to take special care of their feet as their work requires a lot of standing and walking. Colourful clogs can be worn by care home staff, nursery and kindergarten teachers as well as students of medicine.

In all of these professions, the way the shoes look is important, which is why our collection includes fashionable medical footwear that can be easily combined with various medical uniforms. Are you looking for comfortable shoes to wear daily? You can wear scrub shoes even at home, like slippers, or take them with you to the gym or swimming pool.

Certified shoes for healthcare workers

Men’s and women’s medical shoes should conform with local laws. In Poland, the most important regulation is the Act of 20 May 2010 on Medical Devices. It classifies hospital shoes and other elements of medical workwear into several categories: I, IIa, IIb and III. Each product in our shop that has the CE marking has undergone relevant conformity assessment procedures by authorised representatives or the manufacturer. The manufacturer must have all the necessary certificates that confirm that women’s and men’s clogs or other medical shoes are anti-slip, antistatic and antibacterial. Polish hospital footwear should also be compliant with the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 21 December 2005 on the Essential Requirements for Personal Protective Equipment.

Men’s and women’s medical shoes are examples of professional footwear, which is why they must comply with the PN-EN ISO 20347 standard. The standard says that footwear should protect the person wearing it from injury in the workplace. What other markings should you pay attention to when buying medical shoes? The “O” symbol stands for toe protection, while “E” refers to heel energy absorption.

How to choose the right size for your medical shoes?

To choose the correct size of your scrub shoes, start by measuring your feet. Stand on a white piece of paper and draw the contour of your foot. Then draw a straight line between the big toe and the centre of the heel and take its measure. This will give you information about the insole size. If you already know your size, simply go to the selected product page. Next to the product details, you will see a tab saying “Size Chart”. Click it to see a chart that shows the insole length for every size.

How to take care of scrub shoes?

Medical footwear care depends on the material used to make the shoes. For example, synthetic foam shoes should be washed using water and soap, and dried with a cotton towel. In turn, leather shoes must be cleaned only with special detergents. Remember to use antibacterial shoe spray and replace the insoles regularly. We don’t recommend washing your shoes in a washing machine or exposing them to high temperatures. No matter what materials the shoes are made of, dry them away from heat and sunlight. What kind of certificates are required for healthcare worker shoes?

Medical shoes must be compliant with the PN-EN ISO 20347 as occupational footwear. In accordance with the standard, safety footwear should protect the wearer’s feet from potential hazards at work. What’s more, medical shoes must meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment. In particular, footwear must prevent falls caused by slipping. Medical footwear should also abide by national law. In Poland, the most important regulation is the Act of 20 May 2010 on Medical Devices. It classifies hospital shoes as a medical device in one of the several categories: I, IIa, IIb and III. Medical footwear also needs to have the CE marking. It is granted when the product has undergone conformity assessment procedures by the manufacturer or by an authorised representative. The manufacturer should have quality certificates for the products as well as other necessary documents to certify that the shoes are antistatic, antibacterial and anti-slip. Polish safety footwear should also be compliant with the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 21 December 2005 on the Essential Requirements for Personal Protective Equipment.

What type of medical footwear is the most comfortable?

When you spend a lot of time on the go at work – sometimes your shift may be longer than 12 hours – you need to make sure you’re wearing comfortable medical shoes to support you in your daily duties. Good shoes will not only give you comfort but also take care of your health – and your feet will thank you for that!

What are the most comfortable medical shoes then? There is no straightforward answer to this question – everyone has their own personal preferences in this respect. In our shop, you will find a wide range of medical shoes.

Some people prefer classic slippers – easy and quick to put on. Others opt for sturdy and shock-absorbing sports shoes. Design is one thing – but the manufacturing quality may be even more important. A crucial aspect of your shoes is the material they’re made of.

It’s also a good idea to choose shoes with ergonomic insoles which can really improve your comfort as you walk. Some shoes provide special foot arch support, which is indispensable if you need to stand for a long time.

Many medical workers want their shoes to be easy to clean and maintain – after all, when you work in an environment that is full of microbes, your shoes must remain sterile. And this brings us back to the materials – choose those that are easy to disinfect.

Fortunately, our shop offers a broad selection of medical shoes to suit your taste. No matter if you prefer slip-on or lace-up shoes, you will find what you need at Uniformshop.
